The visual communication major of the college opened a professional basic course-sketch in the 3rd-9th week of this semester. The course was taught by Chen Mingda and Fu Rong. This course explains the basic rules of sketch modeling, and introduces a variety of sketch materials and expression techniques in detail. Through the teaching of the course, students from all over the world understand the relationship between black, white and gray sketches and open the door to artistic creation.

The teaching objectives of the course are as follows : 1.To enable foreign students to master the basic concepts and basic classification of sketching, and to understand the tool materials and use methods of sketching.2. Make students master the correct observation methods and painting steps, improve the understanding and analysis ability of the physical space state, and understand the perspective phenomenon and principle. 3.Through practice, students can use the knowledge and skills they have learned to sketch and improve their basic modeling ability and aesthetic quality.

When studying in China, international students need to adapt to different teaching methods and academic environments, and face problems such as language barriers and course difficulty. The City College of Art always pays attention to the learning and living conditions of foreign students from Uganda, Bangladesh, Sierra Leone, Morocco, Nigeria and other countries in the 2023 visual communication major, and pays attention to the development of foreign students in various courses in our college. Through this course, the learning objectives set by the course have been achieved, and the understanding of sketch by foreign students has been greatly improved.
